Altin Naska
Ballet Master. Internationally known choreographer, director, dancer, and master teacher with more than three decades on stage and in the studio, in Europe and the United States.
Ballet training began at age 10 at Albania’s National Ballet School. Choreography study at Tirana University of Arts. In 1991 he moved to Turkey and danced with Istanbul State Opera and Ballet and the Istanbul City Theater. In 1999 he moved to Chicago and danced four seasons with Thodos Dance Chicago and Mordine & Company, and as a guest in suburban ballet productions.
Directing and choreography work includes Thodos Dance Chicago’s New Dances (2000–2003), Dutch National Ballet’s New Voices program (2004), Joffrey Ballet dancers for the Dance Chicago 2005 Choreography Project, Stars of Dance Chicago (2006–present), artistic director for Chicago Dance Theatre (2007), and co-founder and director of SPACE Conservatory for Music, Dance and Drama (2005–2015).
Awards named on his academy page: Albania’s highest artistic achievement award (2003), Dance Chicago’s Outstanding Choreography Award (2007), and one of the 100 success stories of Albanian Excellence (2012).
